OmniAudio's Quota System Update: A Simpler, More Flexible Listening Experience

Today, we want to talk about an important change at OmniAudio. We’ve decided to officially upgrade our quota system from being based on duration to a more straightforward and transparent credit-based system.

Why are we making this change?

To be upfront, there are two main reasons for this decision.

First, it’s about ensuring OmniAudio can continue to operate sustainably. High-quality text-to-speech (TTS) services come with significant costs. Like you, we are heavy users of podcasts and “listen later” tools. We built OmniAudio to solve our own needs first. To keep this passion project running for the long haul, rather than being a flash in the pan, we need a healthier model.

Second, this change simplifies our quota system for fairness and clarity. The old duration-based rules could get complicated with different types of content. Moving to a credit system makes the rule crystal clear: one generation costs one credit. This not only gives you a clear picture of your usage but also paves the way for us to introduce more new features in the future without designing complex billing rules.

What does the new plan mean for you?

In short, the rules are simpler, and the price remains the same.

• Free Users: You will still have 3 free credits, just like before.
• Plus Users: Your monthly quota will change from 100 hours to 100 credits. Our free trial is still available for new users.

Importantly, our pricing remains unchanged.

A small gift for our existing Plus users

We know that changes can take some getting used to. To thank you for your continued support, we’ve prepared a little “welcome gift” for all our existing Plus users.

On the day the new quota system goes live, your usage for the current billing cycle will be reset to zero, and we will top up your account with a full 100 credits, valid until the end of your current cycle.

It’s a small token of our appreciation, and we hope it makes the transition smoother and more pleasant for you.
